What is a Zap?

A Zap connects two applications, automating actions when specific triggers occur. For example, add new SMS subscribers to a Google Sheet automatically.

WSMS Triggers

Setup Steps

Step 1: Create a Zap

  1. Log in to Zapier
  2. Click Create Zap

Step 2: Choose WSMS as Trigger

  1. Search for “WSMS” in the trigger apps
  2. Select your desired trigger (Send SMS or New Subscriber)

Step 3: Connect WSMS

  1. Click Connect to authenticate
  2. Enter your WordPress site URL
  3. Enter your WordPress username
  4. Enter an Application Password (not your regular password)

Step 4: Create Application Password

  1. Go to WordPress → Users → Profile
  2. Scroll to Application Passwords
  3. Enter a name (e.g., “Zapier”)
  4. Click Add New Application Password
  5. Copy the generated password

IMPORTANT

Use an Application Password, not your regular WordPress password.

Step 5: Choose Action App

Select the app where you want to send data (e.g., Google Sheets, Mailchimp, Slack).

Step 6: Map Data Fields

Match WSMS data to the action app fields.

Step 7: Test and Activate

  1. Test the Zap to verify it works
  2. Click Turn on Zap to activate
