WP SMS is Now WSMS: A New Name, A New Look, A Bold Future
WP SMS has been rebranded to WSMS with a new logo, redesigned website, and completely rebuilt admin dashboard. Here's everything you need to know about the change.

If you’ve been using WP SMS, you’ve probably noticed something different. After more than a decade, WP SMS is now WSMS.
And it’s not just a name swap. We used this as a chance to rethink a lot of things.
Why the name change?
WordPress.org updated its trademark policy, so plugins can no longer use “WP” or “WordPress” in their names. Fair enough. We respect that, and honestly it gave us the push we needed to do something bigger.
Instead of just changing two letters, we decided to rebrand properly. New name, new logo, new website, new admin dashboard. WSMS. Short, clean, and easier to say.
New look, new website
We redesigned the website from scratch. It’s faster, easier to navigate, and actually looks like something from this decade. Docs, pricing, gateway info, everything is easier to find now.
The admin dashboard got a full rebuild
This is the part we’re most excited about. The old dashboard worked, but it was showing its age. We rebuilt it completely:
- Clean, modern interface that’s easier on the eyes and faster to work with
- Better organized navigation so you’re not hunting for settings
- Faster performance across the board
- Simplified settings that make more sense
If the old dashboard ever frustrated you, this should feel like a big upgrade.
What’s coming next
We’re already working on what’s next:
New OTP & MFA system. We’re building a One-Time Password and Multi-Factor Authentication system from the ground up. We think it’s going to be the best option available for WordPress. More details soon.
Full plugin refactor. We’re rebuilding the core architecture of WSMS to support more integrations, better extensibility, and a cleaner foundation going forward.
Updated docs
All documentation has been updated with the new branding and latest changes. Whether you’re setting up WSMS for the first time or looking for something specific, check out the updated docs.
How to get the update
To get all the new changes, just update the plugin from your WordPress dashboard, or download the latest version from WordPress.org. If you’re using any add-ons, update those too.
Your license, your settings, your data, nothing changes. The transition is automatic. You update, and everything carries over.
Thank you
To everyone who’s been with us over the years, from the early WP SMS days to now: thank you. Your feedback and support are what keep us going.
Welcome to WSMS.
